1. Information We Collect
We collect only what we need to run dekesin.com and respond to your messages. Specifically:
- Email addresses you give us via the newsletter form or contact form
- Messages you send through the contact form
- Anonymous usage data (page views, referrers) via privacy-friendly analytics if enabled
We do not collect your name, address, phone, payment information, or any data that's not necessary for the site to work. dekesin.com does not see or store any order data — purchases happen elsewhere.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the email address you provide to:
- Send you the field guide PDF you requested
- Send you the monthly "field note" newsletter (if you opted in)
- Reply to your contact form message
We will never sell, rent, or share your email with any third party except where required by law.
3. Information Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it with third-party advertisers. The only third parties that may process your data are:
- Our email service (such as Mailchimp) — for sending the newsletter. They receive your email and consent timestamp only.
- Our web host — for serving the website. Standard hosting logs (IP, user agent) are retained briefly for security.
4. Data Security
We use HTTPS everywhere. The newsletter form and the contact form both post over TLS. We do not store payment data on this site.
5. Cookies & Tracking
This site uses a small number of cookies:
- Essential cookie — remembers your language preference. Required.
- Cookie consent cookie — remembers that you accepted or declined the cookie banner. Required.
- Analytics (if enabled) — privacy-friendly, IP-anonymized, no cross-site tracking.
You can decline non-essential cookies and the site will still work.
6. Your Rights
You can:
- Unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time (every email has a one-click unsubscribe link)
- Request a copy of any data we have about you
- Request deletion of your data
Email Jone@dekesin.com for any of these.
7. Links to Amazon
This site is the official site of the DEKESIN brand. Amazon is the retailer that sells and ships our products. When you click a "View on Amazon" link on dekesin.com, you go to a product page on amazon.com. DEKESIN is not currently enrolled in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program or any Amazon affiliate / Influencer / Attribution program, and we do not earn a commission on Amazon purchases. For the full statement of our relationship with Amazon, see our Amazon Disclosure page.
8. Children's Privacy
DEKESIN products are used by all ages, but this website is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13.
9. Changes to This Policy
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top and note what changed. The current version always lives at this URL.
10. Contact
Email Jone@dekesin.com with any questions about this policy.
