Built by an Angler. Made for Anglers.

DEKESIN was born from two problems every angler knows: junk online kits, and great tackle that costs too much. Premium quality and real value, finally balanced.

We don't sell tackle. We solve a problem.

Every DEKESIN kit exists because of a problem Jone saw on the water for six years. Here's what'3s wrong with the shelf - and what we built instead.

What we kept seeing on the water

  • 200-piece kits where 130 pieces were useless plastic beads you'd never tie on
  • Hooks that straightened on the first catch — usually before you landed the fish
  • Generic lures with no U.S. species targeting — snakehead bait for Texas lakes?
  • Tackle boxes so heavy you left them in the truck instead of taking them on the water

What we wanted instead

  • Real tackle that catches fish on U.S. waters — Great Lakes, Texas, Florida, PNW, Carolina
  • Compact enough to fit in a backpack — 18 to 226 pieces, all earning their slot
  • Tuned for the way beginners actually fish — not for the way the catalog photos look
  • Honest pricing — premium hardware at the price a new angler can actually afford

Meet Jone — Founder of DEKESIN

Two problems on the water, six years of testing, and a stubborn idea: real anglers deserved a real kit. Here's the story.

I grew up fishing — first on a small lake north of Dallas, with a 30-year-old Zebco my dad handed me and a tackle box full of stuff we'd never use. I caught a bass on the first cast. I was hooked.

Over the next decade I fished a lot. Texas reservoirs. Great Lakes smallmouth. Florida flats. Pacific Northwest steelhead. Carolina coast. I started entering tournaments. And I started buying every "200-piece" tackle kit on the shelf, hoping one of them would finally be the right one.

None of them were. That's what bugged me for years.

Two problems I kept running into

Online tackle kits were a mess. Cheap hooks that straightened on the first catch. Mystery plastic beads. Lures that didn't match anything swimming in U.S. waters. A 200-piece kit where 130 pieces were useless filler — and a 70-piece kit where the bait didn't match the fish I was actually trying to catch.

Local tackle shops were too expensive. Quality was real, no question. But a handful of premium lures could run $30 to $50 each. A box of quality hooks was $25. For anyone just getting into the sport — or anyone who fishes every weekend on a normal budget — the math just didn't work.

So we had two options: cheap kits full of junk, or great tackle you had to be rich to afford. Neither one was right.

So I built DEKESIN.

Using my years on U.S. waters, I started assembling the kits I actually wanted: real hooks, real swivels, real weights, and lures tuned for the fish Americans actually chase — largemouth, smallmouth, walleye, snook, redfish, striper, pompano, peacock bass. No filler. No mystery beads. No bait that doesn't match our waters.

Premium tackle — high-carbon steel hooks, brass weights, durable swivels — but priced so a new angler can afford a full kit, not just three lures. High quality and real value, balanced. That's the bet.

Made to go where you go

Then I paid attention to something else. A lot of the people asking me for advice weren't weekend warriors like me. They were outdoor people — hikers, campers, kayakers, folks who fish the way they travel: light, fast, and free.

They didn't want a 30-pound tackle box that lived in the truck. They wanted tackle that fits in a backpack, holds up to salt and abuse, and is ready to go whenever the water calls. So every DEKESIN kit is packable, light, and built to last — backpack-ready, glove-box-ready, ready for the next trip.

What this means for you

If you're starting out, DEKESIN is the kit I wish I'd had. Real tackle, priced for a real budget, tuned for U.S. waters. You won't have to learn the hard way that the lure in slot 47 is useless — because slot 47 doesn't exist.

If you've been fishing a while, DEKESIN is the packable backup you keep in the truck, the kayak, the cabin. The kit you actually carry — not the one that lives in the garage.

What DEKESIN stands for

Four commitments. Every kit we ship has to clear all four — quality, fit, value, and packability.

Real Gear, Zero Fillers

Every piece in a DEKESIN kit is one Jone actually uses on the water. No inflated counts, no mystery plastic beads, no bait that doesn't match U.S. species.

Made for U.S. Waters

Tuned for the lakes, rivers, and surf where real Americans fish. Great Lakes, Mississippi, Florida Everglades, Pacific Northwest, Carolina — not generic global bait.

Smart Value

Premium tackle at a price that respects the new angler. We're not the cheapest kit. We're the kit that doesn't waste your money on filler.

Packable & Built to Last

For the people who value freedom. Every DEKESIN kit fits in a backpack, holds up to salt and abuse, and is ready to go whenever the water calls.

How we test every kit

Before any DEKESIN kit ships, it has to clear the same bar Jone uses on tournament day. The process is simple and the bar is high.

1

1. Jone builds the first kit

Every kit starts as a personal setup. Jone assembles it from the hooks, weights, and lures he actually carries. If he wouldn't tie it on at sunrise, it doesn't make the cut.

2

2. Three trips, three waters

Each kit is fished on at least three different bodies of water — a Texas reservoir, a Pacific Northwest river, and a Florida flat. If it doesn't perform in all three, we revise.

3

3. Ten real anglers, real notes

We ship prototypes to ten tournament anglers and weekend beginners across the U.S. We get back photos, notes, broken hooks, and lost lures. We revise again.

4

4. Only then do we ship

A DEKESIN kit only goes to Amazon after it survives the bar. The kit you buy is the fourth or fifth version, not the first.

Waters we fish, so you know we know

Every DEKESIN kit is field-tested on U.S. waters — not generic global bait. Here's where we fish and what we're targeting.

Texas Reservoirs

Largemouth, white bass, crappie. Lakes Ray Hubbard, Lewisville, Conroe, Austin. Hot, pressured, structure-heavy — the toughest test for any kit.

Great Lakes & Northern Rivers

Smallmouth, walleye, steelhead. Lake Erie, Lake Michigan, the Wisconsin and Minnesota river systems. Cold water, current, finesse presentations.

Pacific Northwest

Salmon, steelhead, trout. The Columbia, the Snake, the Olympic Peninsula. Fast water, big fish, sea-run species — different tackle entirely.

Florida & Gulf Coast

Snook, redfish, seatrout, pompano, peacock bass. The Everglades, Tampa Bay, the surf from Cocoa to Pensacola. Saltwater-grade hooks, heavy-duty swivels.

Southeast & Carolinas

Largemouth, striper, catfish. The Santee Cooper lakes, Lake Norman, the Outer Banks surf. Mixed water, varied structure, year-round fishing.
